Our team of coaches are dedicated to improving swimmers’ technique, race skills and overall experience in the sport. Our coaches also attend meets and club nights, to give swimmers feedback and encouragement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gennadiy Labara (Head Coach)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gennadiy commenced coaching at Wagga Wagga Swim Club at the end of 2017, moving over from New Zealand after a successful ten year period as the Head Coach in Dunedin. Gennadiy holds a Silver Licence Coaching Accreditation and has a strong passion for swimming with a high level of expertise including a Masters degree in Physical Education and Sport. Gennadiy has worked alongside swimming coaches at the top of the sport, including Alexandar Popov’s coach Gennadi Touretski. Gennadiy has high ambitions for Wagga Wagga Swim Club and pushes swimmers to their potential in our A and B Squads, striving for success at National Age and Open Championship events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christine Dean<\/strong> (Assistant Coach)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christine has many years of experience in both Learn to Swim and competitive swimming. Before coaching at Wagga, she spent many years coaching at Ganmain and Coolamon Swim Clubs. She is also currently a dedicated Swimming Instructor at OASIS, having worked there for over 13 years. Christine is an experienced and versatile instructor, teaching all levels from babies to adults. She also has years of experience in teaching kids to swim in her backyard pool in Coolamon. Christine works with our junior swimmers in C and D squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rita Murphy (Assistant Coach)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rita first joined Wagga Wagga Swim Club in 2018 and brought with her great enthusiasm and a wealth of knowledge of all levels of swimming. She previously held a coaching position at St Hilda’s School Southport Aquatics Department in Qld. Rita has extensive experience in coaching, having worked in the industry for many years alongside top coaches such as Dennis Cotterill. Rita returned to the club after spending some time away on the snow fields of Charlotte Pass. We are fortunate to have her back working with our junior swimmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
