CLUB NIGHTS

ELIGIBILITY

All registered WWSC members are welcome to swim at our Club Nights. There are no qualifying times, however we do encourage you to talk to your Coaches about which events you should enter. This is particularly important for newer swimmers considering entering a longer distance event.

Swimmers registered with Swimming NSW, but not with WWSC may apply to the committee to compete as a visitor but they will not be eligible for Championship Trophies.

ENTRIES

Entries are to be completed online via Swim Central by 6 pm on the Wednesday night prior to the Club Night, unless otherwise advised.

Registration for our Club Nights is done through Swim Central. Follow these steps to register, and select the events you would like to compete in:

• Log into Swim Central
• Our Club Nights will usually appear under ‘Events closing soon’ on your home screen of Swim Central
• Alternatively, you can find your chosen event by clicking on ‘Events’ on the green toolbar on the left of the screen
• Select ‘Locate an event’ and type ‘Wagga’ in the filter box
• Full details of how to register for an event in Swim Central are available here.

Swimmers may only enter a maximum of four events at each Club Night.

CLUB NIGHT RULES

1. Competitors must be present at 5.30pm, the first race will commence at 6.00pm sharp.
2. When competitors arrive at the Oasis, they should assemble on the steps at the deep end of the 50m pool (LC) or the deep end of the 25 m pool (SC).
3. The diving pool is out of bounds to ALL club members during the program
4. All swimmers are expected to be accompanied by a parent/carer to help on the night with tasks such as timekeeping, check starting, starting and marshalling.
5. If you enter a 25m event you cannot enter a longer distance event in that stroke at the same Club Night.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Club Championship rules:

1. Swimmers must be financial members of WWSC
2. Competitors will be grouped according to their age at the date of the first championship event, and will remain in that age group for the duration of the competition
3. Age groups are divided into the following categories, in both male and female:
   • 8 years and under
   • 9 years
   • 10 years
   • 11 years
   • 12 years
   • 13 years
   • 14 years
   • 15 years
   • 16 years and over
4. Points in each event for determining age champions are awarded as follows:
   • 1st place – 5 points
   • 2nd place – 4 points
   • 3rd place – 3 points
   • 4th place – 2 points
   • 5th place – 1 point
5. Points will ONLY be awarded to swimmers for the events listed in the table below for their age category. Swimmers who enter a Championship event of a higher age group will not be awarded any points, regardless of their result (eg if an 8 year old swims the 100 butterfly, they will not receive any points)
6. There will be a maximum of three championships events held at any Club Night
7. All championship events will be conducted in accordance with the rules of NSW Swimming Association Incorporated and these By-Laws
8. Trophies will be awarded at a presentation event at the end of the Long Course season
9. Trophies for long distance events – 800m freestyle and 1,500m freestyle – will be awarded to one male and one female on a combined long distance points basis

12 years	As above, plus: * 200m butterfly * 400m freestyle
13 years & over	As above, plus: * 400m Individual Medley * 800m freestyle (A/B Squad only) * 1,500m freestyle (A/B Squad only, with coach approval)

Note that entry in all 200m and 400m events requires coach approval for ages 10 to 13 years.
