We have five squads – four competitive training squads, and a Masters/Recreational Squad.
Details of each squad, including the criteria for each of the training squads, is summarised below. The full list of training sessions for each squad is available here. Note that some sessions fill up quickly, so please contact the Club to check which sessions are available.
The equipment required by swimmers in each squad is available in our Squad Equipment List.
Please be aware that although the squad criteria are adhered to as often as possible, the coaches have a responsibility to exercise their judgement when deciding on which squad a swimmer is best suited to, for the benefit of both individual swimmers and the squads as a whole. There are also capacity numbers for each of the squads that need to be considered.
For information on FINA points, please see this page.
Swimmers transitioning between squads are encouraged to discuss the transition with the Head Coach and their current coach before transitioning to a new squad. This is especially important to prepare the swimmer and parents/carers with an understanding of the changes that the swimmer may experience.
Coaches meet monthly to discuss whether any swimmers should be considered for transition. All queries regarding squad criteria should be directed to the Head Coach.
