WWSC Coaching Staff

Our team of coaches are dedicated to improving swimmers’ technique, race skills and overall experience in the sport. Our coaches also attend meets and club nights, to give swimmers feedback and encouragement.

Feel free to approach any of our coaches on pool deck with questions or for advice.

If you want to change your bookings to different training sessions, please contact Nicole Maher at waggaswimclub@gmail.com.

OUR COACHES

Gennadiy Labara (Head Coach)

Gennadiy commenced coaching at Wagga Wagga Swim Club at the end of 2017, moving over from New Zealand after a successful ten year period as the Head Coach in Dunedin. Gennadiy brings exceptional experience to our club, holding a Silver Licence Coaching Accreditation, and a Masters degree in Physical Education and Sport.

With a deep passion for swimming, Gennadiy has worked alongside some of the sport’s most respected figures, including the renowned Gennadi Touretski, coach of Olympic great Alexander Popov. His technical knowledge, coaching philosophy, and drive for excellence set a strong foundation for our club’s performance pathway.

Gennadiy leads our A and B Squads with high ambitions for every swimmer, pushing athletes to reach their full potential and striving for success at National Age and Open Championship events. Gennadiy shares the club’s commitment to improving swimmers’ technique, race skills, and overall experience in the sport. Wagga Win! Win Well!

Zachery Renshaw (Assistant Coach)

Zac joined Wagga Wagga Swim Club in 2025 after relocating from the Central Coast. Before moving to Wagga, Zac worked at a learn‑to‑swim centre where he played a role in developing their squad programs and swim club. His coaching background is supported by a Development Level Coaching Licence and a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science.

Zac has a strong passion for helping swimmers grow, improve, and achieve their personal best. He loves seeing the progress each swimmer can make across a season and takes pride in guiding them as they refine their technique and achieve measurable performance improvements.

At WWSC, Zac primarily coaches our C and D Squads, assisting with A and B when needed. He brings enthusiasm, knowledge, and a genuine commitment to every session. You’ll find Zac on pool deck at some meets and club nights offering feedback, encouragement, and support. Swimmers and families are always welcome to approach Zac with questions or for guidance – he’s here to help.

Sally Barlow (Assistant Coach)

Sally brings over five years of coaching experience from Melbourne, where she worked across junior development programs and state‑level squads before making the move to Wagga Wagga in March 2025.

At Wagga Swim Club, Sally works with our C and D Squads, focusing on building strong technical foundations, confidence in the water, and a genuine love for the sport. She enjoys supporting swimmers of all ages and abilities, helping each athlete feel motivated, capable, and ready to progress.

Outside the pool, Sally is an accredited dietitian with a special interest in performance nutrition – and when she’s not coaching, you’ll often find her baking or training for her next open‑water swim.

Sally is always happy to chat – feel free to approach her with questions or for guidance; she’s here to help and support our swimmers both in and out of the pool.
