Join Wagga Wagga Swim Club!
Please note: Due to the restricted lane space we have available during the winter season, we are currently unable to take new members (as of April 2024).
If you would like to be added to the waiting list, to be notified when we reopen for new members, please email waggaswimclub@gmail.com with your name, and your child’s name and age.
Are you or your child/ren interested in joining Wagga Wagga Swim Club? We have multiple squads to cater for just about anyone, including our Masters/Recreation squad, which caters for anyone looking to stay fit and get some stroke correction!
How to join Wagga Wagga Swim Club
1. Contact the club
Email our Secretary Nic Maher at waggaswimclub@gmail.com, expressing your interest in you/your children joining, and requesting an assessment.
If you are interested in joining our Masters/Rec squad, an assessment is not required; simply contact us to let us know you are interested. We will confirm availability of spots with you, and you can then proceed to step 3, below.
2. Complete an assessment
Once you have booked your child in for the assessment, bring them down to the Oasis at the given date/time. Head to the deep end of the indoor 25 m pool, and introduce yourself to one of our coaches (they will be wearing the blue and yellow Swim Club tshirt, so should be easy to spot!)
The coaches will let you know as soon as the assessment is over whether your child is right to join the club and which squad they will be in.
3. Register with Swimming NSW
Once your child has been approved by one of our coaches to join a squad, you will need to register them with Swimming NSW, through Swim Central. All swimmers aged 16 years or under require a parent or carer to also register with Swimming NSW. Parents can register as a non-swimmer if preferred.
Follow the steps in our handy ‘how to’ guide to register with Swimming NSW: click here to download.
Note that Swimming NSW registration is for an annual membership, which runs from October each year. Unfortunately they do not offer any discount for swimmers joining partway through the year.
4. Register with WWSC
Once you’ve completed your registration with Swim Central, email Nicole to let her know (waggaswimclub@gmail.com). Nicole will then send you the links to register with our club, and nominate your preferred training times.
The full list of training sessions is available here. Note that some training sessions book out, so your selections will not be guaranteed until you receive an email from the club confirming your training sessions.
5. Pay your training fees
Once you have registered, we will invoice you for the Swim Club training fees. The fees per week for each squad are summarised below:
- A Squad: $37.50 per week
- B Squad: $32.50 per week
- C Squad: $27.50 per week
- D Squad: $21.50 per week
- Masters / Recreational Squad: $18 per week (2 sessions /week) or $27 per week (3 sessions /week)
Fees are charged per season (Long Course – Oct to Apr; and Short Course – Apr to Sep). Fees are adjusted on a pro-rata basis for swimmers who join partway through the season.
We offer a 10% discount if fees are paid in full upfront (within two weeks of invoice). Alternatively you may elect to pay your fees in installments. We offer an additional 5% discount for the second child from the same family, and 10% discount for the third and subsequent children from the same family.
6. Pay your pool entry fees
Oasis pool entry is separate to our training fees. Click here to view the current pool entry fee options. You can get a discounted Oasis membership as a member of Wagga Swim Club – just ask at the Oasis front desk if you are interested in this option. Alternatively, the 10- and 20-visit passes represent good value for swimmers who are only attending the pool two or three times per week.
7. Enjoy your swimming!
